LIVING VEGA-TARIAN::: WASHED PUMPKIN SEEDS

Hey everyone, so pumpkin seeds are my snack of choice today. Even though I love these satisfying seeds, I am not a lover of salt, so what happens when the store bought brand is salt overkilled? I wash them. Yeppers, I said wash.

1. Soak them in water for a few mins.

2. Rub them against each other in a washing motion, but not vigorously.

3. When desired amount of salt is removed then season them to your liking.

Keep on mind that salt is not necessary, as there will be remnants of the salt still on the seeds. It is unlikely you will get all the salt off during the washing process.
For this batch I used cumin, garlic powder, coriander, and a squirt of lemon zest.
But really, it's fun to play with different spices to see what your palette likes best.
Once I even added a little popcorn powder, sour cream and onion flavour, mmmm they were tasty indeed.

The seeds usually take anywhere from 15-25 minutes to bake, and faster if you broil them in the oven on hi.

Please let me know how you enjoyed this snack and what you added to change it.

Love Cerise
